It pays to do the right thing: Incentive mechanisms for Societal Networks Balaji Prabhakar Stanford University By "Societal Networks" we mean networks vital for society's functioning; for example, transportation networks, electricity networks and waste management systems. In this talk, we describe how a combination of technological and economic mechanisms can help to vastly improve the efficiency of such networks. The primary motivating examples are from transportation (decongestion), recycling and electricity networks.
