Biography
Ofer Shayevitz received the B.Sc. (summa cum laude) in electrical engineering from the Technion institute of technology, Israel, in 1997, and the M.Sc and Ph.D from the Tel-Aviv University, Israel, both in electrical engineering, in 2004 and 2009, respectively. Prior to his graduate studies, he spent several years as an engineer and team leader in communications and signal processing. He is currently a postdoc at the Information Theory and Applications center at UCSD. Ofer is a recipient of the 2009 Advanced Communication Center Feder Family award for a Ph.D thesis, the Adams Fellowship 2006-2008 awarded by the Israeli Academy of Sciences and Humanities, the 2007 Weinstein award for a publication in the field of signal processing, and the 2006 and 2008 Weinstein prize for academic excellence.
